When a rate moves or a calculation changes, it gets an entry here. Numbers that quietly change underneath you are worse than numbers that were never there.

Break-even guide: margin table, marketplace scenario, tROAS as a percentage

The step-by-step guide now carries a margin-to-floor reference table, a second pass at the flagship SKU through a 15% marketplace fee, and the floor restated as a Google Ads tROAS percentage and as a break-even CPA — every new figure computed by the calculator engine at build time, so it cannot drift from the tool. The flagship calculator page picks up two questions the search data surfaced: breakeven versus target ROAS, and what a dropshipping floor looks like with duty in it.

Rate change alerts are live

Duty rates are snapshotted and compared daily. When one moves, confirmed subscribers get an email naming which layer changed and by how much — MFN, the China Section 301 lists, or the forced labor duty — rather than just that something changed. Alerts are idempotent: a rerun cannot send the same notice twice.

Launch: ten calculators, layered tariff model

First public version. MFN rates pulled from the USITC tariff schedule (2026 Revision 16) rather than transcribed, with duty modelled as stacked layers so each one can be traced and diffed separately. Section 301 forced labor rates from the July 2026 USTR notice: China and Vietnam 12.5%, India 10%.

Customs value now includes buyer-paid packing

Packing invoiced separately from the goods is part of the dutiable value under CBP valuation rules. Treating FOB alone as the customs value understated duty on every unit. Packaging is now two inputs — paid before import, and added after — and only the first attracts duty.
